I (Blair) spent much of our first full day in the States trying to get my driver's license renewed. I was at the driver's license office at 7am. It opened at 8am and I learned that I needed an eye exam (My last Alabama license had a restriction. It didn't matter that my most recent license from Mississippi had no restriction because I had eye surgery 10 years ago). Thanks to the state of Alabama, I now know that I have 20/15 vision. I had a license by 2:30pm. Phew.
