The Big Hike

Nick and Hamish decided they would climb Fuar Tholl, aka Wellington's Nose, which falls just 7 meters (less than 23 feet) short of Munro status.

The pair learned a few things such as preparation and planning may not be a bad idea. Their notes may be compiled into a "What not to do" book in the future. One particular planning idea is to determine the best route to the summit (preferably by referencing an expert who has previously climbed the mountain). Instead, Nick and Hamish chose what seemed to be a nice spot and climbed up only to realize they had to go back down...and then back up...and then back down. You get the picture. If strenuous exertion was the goal, these guys triumphed.

A view of Loch Carron

Hamish and Nick saw several deer and a fox.

The cairn at the summit - proof that they made it.
