Colmar, France - Part Two

There are only a few buses traveling between Breisach and Colmar on Saturdays. We were convinced that our bus did not arrive until 3:45 pm, and therefore did not double-check the times until 3 pm. We were being extra careful by giving ourselves nearly an hour to get to the bus stop. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The bus came (and went) at 2:50. The next would not arrive until 6:50, so we extended our tour of the city.
To the delight of the children we found a Modern Marvel...
Pure joy!
Caleb climbed the ladder and went down the slide with no help.
Noah was happy to be out of the stroller.

And now back to more old stuff.
Saint Martin Cathedral was constructed between 1235 and 1356 and is an impressive example of Gothic Architecture. The spire was destroyed by fire in 1572 and reconstructed in Renaissance style.

Here's the fabulous trio in their rides.
They were listening to a man play the saxophone.
This brass band was playing the Blues Brothers. The atmosphere was very much like New Orleans.

Thus ends your tour of Colmar. Several people have asked if the town is really as beautiful as it appears in some of the photos. Yes, yes, and yes.
