Easter 2011

Here are a few (well, more than a few) photos to highlight Easter day 2011.
In an attempt to set our hearts and minds on celebrating the resurrection of Christ, we began the day by making Resurrection Buns.
Cooper dips one of his buns into the butter.

Noah adds some cinnamon and sugar.

Caleb didn't want his hands messy, so he used a spoon to add his cinnamon and sugar.
After church, we went to the Bolton's home for a barbecue.
Paul manned the grill.

The kiddos had fun playing in the sandpit...

and in the water.

Kirsty prepared and served a wonderful meal.

The weather was perfect for al fresco dining.
After our meal, the kids went on a resurrection hunt.

Caleb found a cross (as did the other kids; the Bolton's wisely had 6 of every item).

Noah listens to Paul explain the significance of the cross.

Florence enthusiastically volunteers to read the Scripture verses from her scroll.

The kids show off their collections.
After the resurrection hunt, there was a chocolate egg hunt. The kids ran to place their finds in a common bowl before going off to hunt for more eggs - a great idea with mixed ages/abilities.
The gang eating the spoils.

Chums

Finally, there was play on the slide and in the paddling pools.
