Happy Birthday, Nick!

We celebrated Nick's 30th birthday yesterday, October 10. Thanks to everyone who sent birthday greetings!
We started the day with a trip to the beach (only a few minutes drive from our flat). It was quite cold, so we didn't stay outside long. Still, it was exciting for Blair and the boys to see the North Sea for the first time. We had lunch at the Sand Dollar Cafe - sounds like a place you might find on a beach on the Gulf of Mexico :) Blair then drove on the left side of the road for the first time, and safely navigated more than one crazy roundabout. This was a big accomplishment. Nick was a patient instructor.

Cooper helped Blair (or Mommy helped Cooper, depending on whom you ask) bake a Texas sheet cake. He insisted that Daddy have a cake for his birthday.

Everyone knows that licking the spoon is a huge treat for the baker.

While Blair and Cooper were baking and the little guys were napping, Nick went to pick up two "new" toys that Blair got off of Freecycle (similar to Craig's list, except all items are FREE!!!).
We're very excited to have ride on toys again.

Cooper was, in fact, pushing the car with his foot, and NOT kicking his brother.

Happy Birthday to Daddy!
We didn't have candles for the cake, so Nick got one large candle per decade.

Noah models his milk mustache.

Caleb is not the neatest eater, but he loves his sweeties.

It was a good day.
