My New Table and Chairs

I 'm so excited about our new Edwardian drop leaf table and four chairs!

We drove about 30 minutes into the countryside to this farm house to pick up the furniture. The couple purchased it from an auction about 40 years ago. The gentleman told me they were unable to sell the pieces, so they had their daughter list it on Freecycle, and we are the chosen recipients. The chairs were described as a "project." We had no idea the furniture would be so nice.

We always enjoy joy a ride out of the city.

My parents are probably drooling at these pictures :) They love antique furniture, and barley twist is a particular favorite. Our flat feels much more homey to me now. 

Three of the chairs were repaired by the lady.

The fourth will be a fun project for me.

I was even given the handbook.
